Our story

Why we follow the leaf

We believe a cup of tea is a doorway to a place and the people who tend it.

What we do

Jumbexashuffletea is a small independent publication based in Singapore. We write about tea-growing regions, brewing traditions, tasting vocabulary and tea travel across Asia, aiming to help readers connect landscape, preparation and flavour.

We are not a shop or a tour operator, and we do not accept payment for coverage.

How we research

We combine visits to growing regions, conversations with producers and tea-house keepers, and classic texts such as Lu Yu's The Classic of Tea and Okakura Kakuzō's The Book of Tea. We distinguish clearly between local customs and general brewing advice.

Respect and accuracy

We describe communities in their own terms, explain unfamiliar words, and avoid presenting living cultures as exotic spectacle. If you spot an error, write to [email protected]; we correct mistakes promptly and note significant changes.
